‘RHOC’ Queen Vicki Gunvalson Doesn’t Think Shannon Beador Will Last 14 Seasons — ‘She’s Tough to Work With’

Vicki Gunvalson is the most recognizable face on The Real Housewives of Orange County. The OG of the OC was on the Bravo series for 14 seasons. Although she’s not on the show anymore, she is talking about her former co-star Shannon Beador. Gunvalson doesn’t think Beador will last as long as she did on the franchise and claims she’s tough to work with.

As of right now, Gunvalson is the longest-running housewife of all The Real Housewives franchises and that is why she calls herself the OG. Gunvalson held an orange for 13 years but let it go in season 14 when she was demoted to a “friend of” role. The only other housewife to match Gunvalson is Ramona Singer on The Real Housewives of New York City, where by the end of this season would have tied Gunvalson for 13 years.

On Gunvalson’s own RHOC franchise, none of the current housewives come close to matching her longevity. The most veteran star right now is Beador with 7 seasons under her belt. As Beador is continuing her journey in season 16, she would have 8 seasons by the end of next year. When Gunvalson made an appearance on Access Hollywood’s Housewive Nightcap, the former reality star mentioned Beador coming close.

“How many people can say they were on a TV reality show for 14 years? I got Shannon coming in up my a–,” Gunvalson said.

The hosts of the online show said they didn’t understand how Beador had such staying-power, to which Gunvalson added, “I don’t either.”

“She’s tough to work with. I think she’s on season seven now, so she’s got a long way to go. I don’t think she’ll hit 14,” Gunvalson added.

During the same interview, Gunvalson talked about her fallout with Beador. Both stars were seemingly close-knit but it might have just been a friendship for the cameras. Gunvalson recalls that Beador stopped talking to her when the latter moved forward with RHOC and the OG was fired.

“Shannon stopped talking to us right away, right when she got asked back,” Gunvalson said. “She never would return a call. She never would text back. Nothing, nothing nothing.”

Gunvalson admitted that she doesn’t think Beador has bad blood toward her but confessed that friends close to her warned her about Beador.

“I think Shannon easily discards her friends and that was something I knew about her very early on,” Gunvalson admitted. “One of her friends had told me — that had been friends with her for 20 years — that as soon as she got on the show, she stopped talking to her. Like how do people discard friends? My friends from high school and college are still my friends. Regardless if I’m on the show or not, they’re still my friends. [Beador’s friend] just said be careful and don’t get too close. So that was sad.”

Beador infamously said that she stopped talking to Gunvalson and Tamra Judge as they lived far from her.

“I really have no reason to be around them anymore,” Beador told Entertainment Tonight back in October 2020. “We live, like, 45 minutes away from each other, so it’s not like we’re in the same social circles or anything like that. I don’t know when I would ever potentially run into them again.”
