Golden Knights vs. Canadiens Game 6: Live updates, score, results from must-win game for Vegas
Game 6 #Game6
The Montreal Canadiens will look to close out their series against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night. The Canadiens gained the upper hand in the series with a convincing 4-1 win over the Golden Knights in Game 5 on Tuesday and now Vegas is on the brink of elimination.
In the victory, the Canadiens were extremely balanced with four different goal scorers, including rookie phenom Cole Caufield and fellow forward Nick Suzuki. Montreal jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead over the first two periods before former Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty got Vegas into the scoring column. Part of the reason for the advantage was the play of goalie Carey Price, who stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced.
The series definitely has been closely contested with the Canadiens holding a narrow 12-11 advantage in the goals department. However, the Golden Knights have only scored more than two goals in one game throughout the series. Despite being the lowest seed remaining in the Stanley Cup playoffs, Montreal has done a great job of frustrating the talented Vegas scoring attack.
CBS Sports will be with you every step of the way as the Golden Knights and Canadiens face off in Game 6.
