The Vanderbilt baseball team trailed by one run entering the bottom of the ninth inning. 

But with two outs, Vanderbilt’s Javier Vaz scored on an Enrique Bradfield Jr. single, and then Spencer Jones scored on a wild pitch.

When Jones touched home plate to give Vanderbilt a 6-5 win against Stanford, the Commodores went crazy.

Vanderbilt advanced to face NC State at 1 p.m. CT on Friday.

“Spencer Jones scores. Vanderbilt alive,” Karl Ravech said on ESPN as Vanderbilt won the game. “They win it 6-5. What happened?”

Vanderbilt baseball players tore off Spencer Jones’ jersey after he scored the game-winning run.

It wasn’t just the Vanderbilt team that went crazy, but so did their fans.

Vanderbilt improved to 47-16 overall. Stanford ended the season 39-17 overall.

After Wednesday, Vanderbilt leads the all-time series 11-9 vs. Stanford.
