‘Absolutely fuming’: Madge storms out of dressing room after all-time ‘chest out’ spray

Madge #Madge

An irate Tigers coach Michael Maguire was captured giving an all-time halftime spray before storming out of the dressing rooms to leave his players to work it out on their own.

The Tigers found themselves down by a whopping 40-0 at halftime to a ruthless Storm outfit putting on a point a minute to stun Maguire’s side.

However what was waiting for the Tigers players in the dressing rooms was even worse than what they dished up in the first half at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

“Michael Maguire is absolutely fuming, chest out,” Michael Ennis said on Fox League.

“He has stormed out of the dressing room and has taken all his staff with him.

“He has left it to the players and he is absolutely disgusted and so he should be.”

“Is this the right play from Madge Braith because I don’t think he has got any other option?” Cooper Cronk asked.

“Nothing he says at this point I believe is going to make a difference,” Anasta replied.

“He has left it up to the players to try and regroup and show something in the second half.

“You see him barking orders and soon you will see him and the rest of his coaching staff leave the dressing room. They leave it to the players. Sometimes you are better off saying nothing.”

“What statement is it when you are down 40-0 and your coach walks out with his staff and leaves you to your own devices?” Yvonne Sampson asked.

“It is a statement to say basically you guys sort it out yourselves,” Cronk replied.

“Because everything we have spoken about and practised this week you have not delivered this game.

“So anything I am going to say you are not listening to, so go ahead fix it yourselves. You have 40 minutes to at least salvage some type of pride.”

Tigers skipper James Tamou revealed what Maguire said before he stormed out, post match.

“Mate I love Madge,” Tamou said.

“He just said it is up to us. We have dug this whole we have got to get ourselves out of it.

“Some of the young boys spoke up which was really refreshing.

“Silver lining but the fact is we still have a lot of things to sort out. It is going to take everyone in this side to try and sort it out.

“We are only halfway through the season so we have really got to pick it back up.”
