With the Denver Nuggets advancing to the second round of the playoffs, some players on the roster are set to earn hefty bonuses after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Nuggets beat the Trail Blazers in Game 6 on Thursday to advance to play the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference semifinals. Nikola Jokic scored 20 of his 35 points in the third quarter to lead the Nuggets back from a 14-point second-half deficit.
As it turns out, Jokic is set to earn a bonus following the win.
According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, Jokic will earn an additional $500,000 this season by advancing to the second round of the playoffs. In addition to Jokic, Nuggets forward Paul Millsap and rookie Facundo Campazzo will each see an extra $100,000.
Campazzo emerged this season as a strong contributor to the Nuggets. He appears to be a lock to earn All-Rookie honors after averaging 6.1 points, 3.6 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals. During the playoffs, Campazzo upped his production to 9.3 points and 5.2 assists.
