PORT ANGELES — KONP Radio 1450 AM, 101.7 FM will launch a new lineup on Tuesday.

“An opportunity was created to re-evaluate daytime programming with the passing of Rush Limbaugh, the most listened to host in radio history,” said Brown M. Maloney, owner and president of Radio Pacific.

“Changing our format is no small undertaking and we spent weeks searching, cultivating and creating a new sound and feel for the morning.”

On Tuesday, KONP will debut Jack Armstrong and Joe Getty, hosts of The Armstrong & Getty Show in the 9 a.m. to noon time slot.

“Without being angry and recognizing laughter is still the best medicine, this pair dedicates every broadcast to the idea that one can be both informed and involved,” according to a KONP press release.

“On The Armstrong and Getty Show, listeners will hear a take on news, politics, pop culture and everyday experiences of life.”

In the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., KONP will debut Our American Stories, a program dedicated to highlighting the power of radio as a storytelling medium.

“Our American Stories covers America’s rich history delving into subjects as broad as the arts, music, sports, business, technology, science and the military,” the press release said.

“In summary, stories of Americans celebrating hard work and risk taking, all presented in a nonpartisan manner.”

Currently in this time slot, The Ramsey Show will move to evenings from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
