Masked Dancer ‘work out’ Rubber Chicken is Bradley Walsh after flippant remark

Masked Dancer fans reckon that they’ve worked out who Rubber Chicken is after noticing his accent – and it’s none other than Bradley Walsh.

Viewers also noticed a cheeky final clue after he walked off stage referencing his hit ITV show The Chase.

“Hiya, I’m Rubber Chicken. This chicken can’t be cooped up for long,” he teased during his clues. “Us rubber chickens have always been punchlines.

“I’m just too soft and squidgy for my own good… I may look slapstick, but that’s not the heart of me.”

Judge Jonathan Ross dubbed Rubber Chicken as “probably not a professional dancer”.

While Davina McCall said that she went “down the dog route”, adding: “I think that physicality and the way he moves – it’s Paul O’Grady.”

But when walking offstage, Rubber Chicken quipped: “This chicken just loves the chase.”

And fans were convinced that it was indeed Bradley.

One tweeted: “Rubber chicken is definitely Bradley Walsh.”

While another commented: “I think rubber chickens Bradley Walsh, especially when they said “chickens just love THE CHASE” #TheMaskedDancer.”

A third wrote: “‘This Chicken just loves the chase’….. Ok…NOW I think it’s Bradley Walsh!! XD #TheMaskedDancer.”

Tonight, the remaining six characters battled it out on the dance floor as they hoped to win over the judges and viewers.

Alongside Rubber Chicken, the new faces hoping for glory were Beagle, Squirrel, Carwash, Frog and Flamingo.

This comes after Viper became the first character to be unmasked on Saturday evening after losing out to Beetroot and Knickerbocker Glory in the bottom three.

Zip, Llama and Scarecrow made it safely to the next round, however, and fans were stunned as Diversity star Jordan Banjo was revealed to be behind the forked tongue.

After he was unmasked, Jordan joked: “This entire experience was worth it just to be called Anthony Joshua.”

Opening up about his reason for taking part, Jordan said: “After the past year we all need to have some fun!”

Admitting that he had found it “super difficult” to keep it a secret, he also added about leaving the competition at this point: “Part of me was gutted but also relieved!”

This comes after the Masked Singer proved to be a huge ratings success for ITV, with Sausage’s win in February this year breaking records.

The final of the second series peaked at 10.6million, with an average of 8.6million tuning in to watch the show – which was up by 2.2million on the last series in 2020.

Sausage managed to beat Badger and Robin to secure the crown and was unmasked as singer Joss Stone, leaving the judges utterly speechless.

Meanwhile, Badger was unmasked as singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and Robin as JLS star Aston Merrygold.

Following the release of the ratings, ITV’s Managing Director Kevin Lygo said at the time: “In these testing times, we’re delighted that The Masked Singer has brought some escapist joy and light relief to so many viewers at home.

“At the end of a long week in lockdown we’re all coming together and trying to guess who’s dressed as a giant sausage, and quite frankly, it’s been a brilliantly entertaining tonic.”
