West Coast midfielder Dom Sheed has been cited by the Match Review Officer for striking in the Eagles’ 30-point win over Adelaide on Sunday.

Sheed was cited for an incident in the second term where he made “careless” contact with Crow Lachlan Sholl.

The strike to Sholl’s body was assessed as low impact.

Luckily for the Eagles, Sheed can escape with just a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea.

The report was the only sour note from West Coast’s win, with coach Adam Simpson confirming both Liam Ryan and Shannon Hurn would be in contention to return for this weekend’s clash with GWS.

In other reports, Fremantle’s Darcy Tucker can accept a $3000 fine for engaging in rough conduct against Essendon’s Zach Merrett.

Given it’s Tucker’s second offence, he was hit with a higher financial penalty.

Bomber Andrew Phillips was hit with a $1000 fine for his misconduct against Docker Lachie Schultz while Melbourne’s Tom McDonald has escaped with a $2000 fine for kneeing Blue Lachie Plowman at the MCG.

Just a day after welcoming back defensive duo Jeremy McGovern and Tom Barrass, Eagles coach Adam Simpson said the cavalry was coming.

“(Ryan) trained fully so he’s got to get through the week, but I think he’ll be available,” Simpson revealed.

“And Shannon (Hurn), I think he signed off yesterday, so he should be in the mix for this week as well. It’s been great to get some exposure in some of our younger players, but, it will be good to get those guys back.”

The Eagles will face a GWS side without star Toby Greene on Sunday.

The Giants skipper suffered a fractured shoulder in his side’s narrow loss to Richmond on Saturday night.

In some good news for the club, young Tom Green has picked up his second NAB Rising Star nomination.

Green had 24 touches and kicked a goal against the Tigers in round nine.

He joins Sholl, and West Australian duo Mitch Georgiades and Luke Jackson as double nominees for the award.
