Thomas Frank attempted to whip up the Brentford crowd in a bid to spur his side on ahead of their huge play-off semi final second leg against Bournemouth, only for the Bees to go one goal down to the Cherries after five minutes.
Last season’s play-off finalists are attempting to reach the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history, but entered Saturday’s second-leg with plenty to do having lost 1-0 to Jonathan Woodgate’s side in the first leg.
The west Londoners welcomed fans back to the brand new Brentford Community Stadium and their charismatic Danish coach looked to rally Bees supporters before kick off.

The 47-year-old is hoping to steer his side to the play-off final past rivals Bournemouth
The 47-year-old was captured dashing around the pitch, waving his arms in the direction of the supporters who responded with great acclaim ahead of the monumental game.
Frank was also seen holding three fingers up to the crowd, accompanied by a zero gesture, indicating a pre-match prediction of a 3-0 win for the hosts.
Frank’s efforts appeared to have little impact, however, as the Brentford coach was left slightly red-faced after Bournemouth opened the scoring within the first five minutes of the game.
However, his efforts failed to work initially as Bournemouth took the lead after five minutes
Brentford rallied thanks to an Ivan Toney penalty before the Cherries suffered a red card
Arnaut Danjuma dispatched beyond David Raya with a fine strike into the top corner, having scored in the first leg at the Vitality Stadium.
Brentford supporters rallied around their side, though, and delivered a deafening din to roar their ambitious side on.
Ivan Toney scored from the spot to give Frank’s side a glimmer of hope before Bournemouth were reduced to ten men following a cynical foul by Chris Mepham on Bryan Mbeumo.
The Bees came on strong to blow Bournemouth away and advance to the Wembley final
Frank will hope to get his side over the line after suffering heartbreak in last season’s final
The Bees emerged for the second half with the wind in their sails as Vitaly Janelt and Marcus Forss scored to overturn the two-goal deficit and book their place at Wembley with a 3-2 aggregate win.
Frank will now hope to right the wrongs of last season’s final in which they missed out on the golden ticket to the Premier League after losing to local rivals Fulham.
The Bees will face either Swansea City or Barnsley in the showpiece event. Steve Cooper’s side hold a one-goal advantage over the Tykes heading into Saturday evening’s second leg.
