  • Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Sadio Mane has apologised after refusing to shake his hand at Old Trafford.

Mane was livid after being left out of the starting lineup for Liverpool’s 4-2 victory away to Manchester United on Thursday.

The winger was brought on in the 74th minute but was still angry after the game and snubbed Klopp’s attempts to shake hands.

However, Mane found himself back in the starting lineup as Liverpool face West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Sunday.

Klopp revealed that the situation has now been resolved, with Mane having apologised to him.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Klopp said: ‘We spoke and he apologised. That’s clear and that is it.’

Mane has frequently impressed during his time at Liverpool, but, like many of his team-mates, has endured some difficulties this season.

Going into the game against West Brom, Mane had scored just nine goals in 32 Premier League appearances, far short of his return of 18 goals last season.

With Diogo Jota out injured, Mane will be hopeful of starting Liverpool’s last two games of the season, against Burnley and Crystal Palace.
