Maverick independent MP Craig Kelly has paid tribute to the “gangsters and villains of the past” ahead of Tuesday’s budget, bringing a pallet of fake money into parliament.
Illustrated with Ned Kelly’s face, Craig Kelly delivered a press conference outlining his objections to today’s big-spending budget in which he showed off the fake trillion dollar notes.
He revealed the pallet of fake money had cost about $1000 to print, which had come out of his taxpayer-funded printing allowance, but he had not yet invoiced the expenses.
In a post on Twitter, the former LNP member asked his followers: “Wouldn’t you love to have this much money?
“Well you do!!
“This represents close to $1 TRILLION of Federal and State Government net DEBT that YOU and future generations need to pay off.”
Mr Kelly quit the LNP earlier this year to sit on the crossbench.
He has been a vocal critic of coronavirus vaccines, and was recently removed from Facebook for spreading misinformation.
