Alex Morono earned the most notable victory of his career on Saturday when he beat Donald Cerrone in the UFC on ESPN 24 co-main event.

Morono (19-7 MMA, 8-4 UFC) extended Cerrone’s (36-16 MMA, 23-13 UFC) winless drought to six fights when he scored a first-round TKO win over “Cowboy” in the welterweight co-headliner, which took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Check below for the top Twitter reactions to Morono’s victory over Cerrone at UFC on ESPN 24.

Aljamain Sterling

I think Cerrone takes this. Morono isnt the most technical striker, but he’s super tough, and his durability is a weapon. Kinda like an Elkins durability. I like that Cerrone has been sparring again, and seemed focused to fight Diego, but still hungry with the opponent change

Morono looking crisp on the feet and loose. Landing solid and frustrating Cowboy it seems. #UFCVegas26

Aljamain Sterling

That was the best striking display from Morono I’ve ever seen. Clean and much more technical and precise. I thought Cerrone was gonna win that one. #UFCVegas26

Ben Fowlkes

It looks like Cowboy Cerrone. Sounds like him. But once the leather starts flying it’s like someone doing a poor imitation. That hurt to watch.

Brett Okamoto

Man, Alex Morono finishes Donald Cerrone in the first round. Knocks him out on the feet. Tough to say where Cowboy goes from here. Fifth consecutive loss, four of those were knockouts. Hard to watch the legends struggle at the end of their careers.

Brandon Gibson

Damn, tough to see Cowboy go out like that.

Eric Nicksick

I’m not sure how that version of Cowboy would’ve done vs Diego. 🤷🏼‍♂️ #UFCVegas26
