Police investigating after man stabbed in Hastings

One of the red zone travellers from Papua New Guinea who was allowed into Brisbane Airport’s green zone for two hours has tested positive.

Hawke’s Bay police asking for public assistance in their investigation into a serious assault that took place in Hastings more than a month ago.

Emergency services were called to the incident near a takeaway bar on Heretaunga Street West after 1am on Sunday, March 28.

A man had been stabbed and underwent surgery. Police said he had since been discharged and was recovering.

A vehicle was captured on CCTV near the scene around the same time of the assault and police would like to hear from anyone if they recognised the vehicle or have any information that could assist.
