Tottenham 4-0 Sheffield United LIVE! Gareth Bale hat-trick, Premier League match stream, latest score updates

Bale #Bale

Tottenham will be looking to put the disappointment of their Carabao Cup final defeat behind them as they host already-relegated Sheffield United this evening.

Spurs missed out on the chance to end their 13-year trophy drought when they were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City at Wembley last weekend, with the scoreline hardly reflective of City’s dominance.

Nonetheless, they will be desperate to end the season in good style under interim boss Ryan Mason, with European qualification still up for grabs.

It looks set to be a turbulent summer in north London, with the search for a new manager and the future of star man Harry Kane likely to dominate.

The Blades, meanwhile, are already preparing for a season in the Championship after a dismal campaign but they did pick up their first win since early March by beating Brighton last time out.

47 mins: Lo Celso needs treatment and is not happy at all.

The best argument you can make for Fleck there is that he was clumsy – and he’s lucky to still be on the pitch the more you look at it.

46 mins: Lo Celso goes down under a challenge from Fleck, and the Spurs man is writhing around in agony now.

Replays show that Fleck caught Lo Celso on the head with his boot – depending on which team you support, that was either completely accidental or very naughty.

VAR reviews it, and decides it’s unintentional.

We are back underway in north London.

Double change from the Blades as Sander Berge is back from injury for the first time since December – he’s on along with Burke for Bogle and Brewster. No surprise to see the striker depart given how poor his movement was in the first half.

Leading by a goal at half-time invariably ended badly for Spurs under Jose Mourinho but the manager always insisted it was not down to him. It will be interesting to see how Mason’s side manage the next 45 minutes after Bale’s goal.

So far, so good for Spurs – but Ryan Mason will want them to put the game to bed with an early goal after the break.

Lovely move from Spurs here with Dele, Son and Kane trading quick one-touch passes – that’s the kind of football Spurs fans were probably expecting more of this season.

Dele shows great strength and then tries to disguise a finish into the far corner, but it’s too close to Ramsdale.

Three minutes added on here.

44 mins: Lo Celso fires over the bar from outside the box now.

Plenty of shots for Spurs so far, and they’ve got their lead – but it’s just the one goal. It should be more.

Son wins a free-kick 25-30 yards out – Bale and Kane stand over it… Kane drives into the wall, and then blasts the follow-up well wide. Poor from him.

39 mins: Better from Brewster as he finds space on the right and plays a purposeful ball across to tee up Fleck, but there’s little belief in the finish as it’s easily blocked – the story of Sheffield United’s season.
