9:30 p.m. The Patriots are five picks away. Their best options are quarterbacks Justin Fields and Mac Jones, offensive tackle Rashawn Slater, linebacker Micah Parsons and cornerback Greg Newsome.
9:15 p.m. Justin Fields and Mac Jones are still available at No. 9 overall, after the Panthers selected South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn with their first pick.
9:05 p.m. The Dolphins selected Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle with the sixth overall pick. The Pats coveted Waddle as a prospect, per multiple reports.
Quarterbacks Justin Fields and Mac Jones remain on the board at No. 7 overall.

8:26 p.m. The Jaguars selected Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick, a foregone conclusion for months. The Jets are up next.
Guregian: If Patriots truly want Jimmy Garoppolo, just go get him
7:25 p.m. According to the NFL Network, the Patriots aren’t expected to trade for Garoppolo “anytime soon.” The Pats are hung up on Garoppolo’s contract — which currently carries at $26.4 million cap hit — while the 49ers want more than the Patriots are willing to trade. Negotiations have been described as a staring contest.
