Best thing I ate: Pizza, beer and fresh air
Pizza Pizza #PizzaPizza
The world needs more beer gardens, especially in times like these. And there will always be room for more great pizza like the New York-inspired pepperoni at Pizza X in Anaheim.
The pizza comes from a food truck parked behind Brewery X. Because the brewery doesn’t have a kitchen, the owners created a space for trucks on the backside of the complex at the edge of their sprawling beer garden — one of the largest outdoor dining areas in the county. Then, shortly after the beginning of the pandemic last year, they launched their own more-or-less-permanent truck called Pizza X (which was followed by second house-branded truck called X Eats).
You’ll want to go straight for the pizza truck and ask for a pepperoni: thin crust, spicy pepperoni and the absolute perfect ratio of marinara sauce to cheese. This is seriously great pizza.
The pizzas are available most days for lunch and dinner, but the food schedule at the brewery fluctuates, so you’ll want to double-check the website to make sure pizzas are on the agenda before heading over.
