World Cup #WorldCup

The Super League announcement has shocked the footballing world. 12 clubs, including Liverpool, have announced that they have formed a new European mid-week competition called the Super League. The competition will consist of 20 teams, 15 Founding Clubs, and five other clubs that have to qualify on a year to year basis.

The Super League, which was officially announced just hours ago, is already receiving wide-spread push back from supporters and football governing bodies alike.

One threat that has been made is that players who play for clubs involved in the Super League will not be able to represent their international sides at the World Cup or other corresponding international competitions.

However, Florentino Perez is prepared to ensure that this is not a problem.

The Super League Chairman and Real Madrid President has said that he is prepared to create his own world cup tournament.

“If the players participating in the European Super League are banned from playing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, we will create our own World Cup tournament. It is not a big deal.”

In the statement made by the Super League, Florentio Perez had this to say.

“We will help football at every level and take it to its rightful place in the world. Football is the only global sport in the world with more than four billion fans and our responsibility as big clubs is to respond to their desires.”
