Sharon Osbourne Tells Bill Maher On ‘Real Time’ She Is “Angry & Hurt” After Leaving ‘The Talk’

Last night on Real Time with Bill Maher, Sharon Osbourne expressed the anger and hurt she feels surrounding her recent exit from CBS‘ The Talk. She was the very last original co-host to leave the show.

“I’m sorry, I’m 65, you’re 68, I know who I am, I don’t need re-education,” declared Maher during the interview. “We can’t judge everyone by their worst moments,” Maher insisted after Osbourne criticized her “disgruntled” ex-colleagues and provider her explanation of the events that led to her controversy last month.

“I’ve been called so many things in my life, I am so used to being called names, but a racist is one I will not take,” said Osbourne who was met with cheers from the audience. “I’m going to be just fine, I’m fine, as I said I’m a fighter, I’m fine,” Osbourne added.

“It’s not fair, because it isn’t about being a racist,” she continued. “It’s about maybe not knowing what is correct and woke for your language that day, ’cause it changes from day to day,” Osbourne went on, mentioning Robin DiAngelo’s 2018 best seller White Fragility as a sore spot.

“The idea in there is that you have two choices if you are White, you are either a racist or a racist and you don’t know it,” interjected Maher.

This was Osbourne’s first big interview since leaving The Talk after perceived racist comments stemming from her defense of her pal Piers Morgan, who had said he did not think Meghan Markle’s comments about the royal family to Oprah on March 7 were all true.

Osbourne was at the center of a heated March 10 discussion about race with fellow co-host Sheryl Underwood. The show had went on a brief hiatus and CBS concluded its investigation on March 26, announcing that Osbourne had decided to leave the show after 11 seasons.

Since her exit from The Talk, the CAA-repped Osbourne and former rock-and-roll manager has engaged in mostly harmless social media postings until last night’s interview.

Maher had qualms with “woke language,” criticizing the Duchess of Sussex and saying things like “unless you agree with every person of color, then you’re racist,” with Osbourne agreeing.

The HBO host then took the stance that there may be some truth to Markle and white privilege “poster boy” Prince Harry’s claims of racist treatment by their fellow Royals. “The old bag is a 100,” Maher joked about Queen Elizabeth II to Osbourne’s ironic perturbation with the comment.

On the eve of the funeral of Prince Phillip, Maher and Osbourne agreed that the scandalous British Royals are “cold to everyone” and Markle was no exception.
