Person found dead in Amelia fire

One person is dead in a trailer fire in Clermont County, fire officials said.

Fire crews first responded just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 2700 block of Lindale-Mt. Holly Road south of Amelia. 

Monroe Township Assistant Chief Greg Lang said the trailer is a total loss.

The cause remains under investigation.

Lang said it’s not clear yet if the fire caused the person’s death or if he or she died before the fire started.

Neighbors identified the person who died as a man, but said they did not know him well.

They said an ambulance was just at the trailer the previous night and he often needed emergency medical attention.
