Actor George Segal has died after undergoing heart surgery.
The Just Shoot Me star’s death was confirmed by his wife Sonia, who told Deadline they are shocked by his unexpected passing.
“The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery,” Mrs Segal said.
In addition to Just Shoot Me, where he played the head of a publishing company Jack Gallo, Segal also stared in Fun with Dick and Jane, Look Who’s Talking, and A Touch of Class.
His performance in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? earned him an Oscar nomination.
He was also a recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and secured five Golden Globes nominations during his career.
The sad news was confirmed by his wife, who added the actor died due to complications from a bypass procedure.
