Krispy Kreme Is Giving Out Free Doughnuts All Year for Getting Vaccinated

Not that immunity from a disease that brought the entire planet to a halt shouldn’t be reward enough, but today, Krispy Kreme has announced that getting your COVID-19 vaccine comes with an additional perk: a free doughnut.

The beloved chain says simply present a valid COVID-19 vaccination card at any Krispy Kreme shop in the U.S. to receive a free Original Glazed doughnut. The brand emphasized that the deal is good “anytime, any day, even every day—through the remainder of 2021.”

“We all want to get COVID-19 behind us as fast as possible, and we want to support everyone doing their part to make the country safe by getting vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to them,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief marketing officer, said in the announcement. To support its own employees, the chain is offering up to four hours of paid time off to encourage them to go get their vaccines, as well.

Krispy Kreme adds that their efforts to lift spirits at this crucial time go even further. The brand is planning to send something sweet to health care workers and volunteers by dropping off free doughnuts to “select vaccination centers throughout the country in the coming weeks.”

And to encourage customers to spread cheer to family, friends, and neighbors, Krispy Kreme is launching “Be Sweet Weekends” which gives anyone who purchases any dozen doughnuts the chance to grab a second Original Glazed dozen with a special smiley-face doughnut for just $1. These “Be Sweet Dozens” will be available every Saturday and Sunday until May 23.

Finally, every Monday from March 29 to May 24, Krispy Kreme wants to help Americans “get their week off to a good start,” so anyone can go to a participating location to get one free medium coffee and a free Original Glazed doughnut, absolutely free, no purchase necessary. But just because you can get a free doughnut for doing nothing, don’t let that dissuade you from getting your vaccine.
