8 Popular Nintendo Wii U Games (And Whether They Deserve Switch Ports)
Splatoon 3 #Splatoon3
Should it be allowed on the Switch: No
The original Splatoon is one of the best games on the Wii U. It was one of the few Wii U games which made non-Wii U owners kind of jealous of those who brought the console. That doesn’t mean it should be ported to the Nintendo Switch as the Nintendo Switch has Splatoon 2, a game that does almost everything Splatoon does but better.
The only reason you might want to play the original Splatoon would be for its campaign. Porting that over as a download-only title or adding it as DLC to either Splatoon 2 or the upcoming Splatoon 3 would be kind of cool but what are the chances that Nintendo are going to do that?
Like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Mario Maker which got the Switch sequels Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Mario Maker 2, Splatoon 2 is just the original Splatoon but better in every way.
Splatoon should stay on the Wii U, not because it’s bad, but because Splatoon 2 is already on the Switch making the original game redundant.
