Mother’s Day is a little over two weeks away. If you’re on the hunt for the perfect bouquet online or shopping locally, there are a few hacks you can use to find the best deal. Plus, there’s still a bit of time left to weigh your options. We’ve assembled some of the best deals available from top online florists and compiled some tips you can use to find the perfect arrangement for mom whether you’re hitting the keyboards or the sidewalk.

5 deals not to miss

Get 15% off at Urban Stems with code SAVE15

Insider raves about Urban Stems, saying that it is “the best flower delivery service we’ve ever tested.” The flowers are among the freshest the reviewer has ever ordered online and the quality control is excellent: The flowers sent both to New York City and a rural town in Colorado “on time and in excellent condition. All the arrangements were bright and lively, with creative blooms in a range of color palettes.”

You can pick a special bouquet at Urban Stems for Mom and save 15% by using the code SAVE15. Urban Stems offers next day delivery (and same-day in some areas).

The Bouqs Co.: 20% off first order with email signup; Subscribe for 30% off; Login for $10 shipping

There are various ways to save with the Bouqs Co., an online flower delivery and subscription service that boasts an average 4.6 out of 5 star rating on Consumer Affairs. The company offers same day or next day delivery depending on your location and there’s a wide variety of bouquets to choose from. Vibrant Mothers’ Day arrangements start at around $49 and you can get 20% off your first order by signing up with your email. If you opt to join their subscription service you can save 30% off and you can use an existing login to score $10 shipping if you already have one.

You can get 24 mixed color long stem roses shipped for less than $40 (usually $85.76) or 24 long stem roses in a vase for $64.99 (usually $117.64) from Rose Farmers.

This deal was one our Deals of the Day last week — and two MarketWatch Picks editors sprung for it and were happy with their purchases.

Redeeming this deal does require you to take the voucher off-site and purchase the flowers on the Rose Farmers site, but we found it easy to do. Also, be aware that if you choose the mixed color bundle without the vase, you do not get to select the color of the flowers you receive. The florists will curate that for you.

FTD: Mothers’ Day sale, save 20% with code SAVE20

FTD has curated a Mother’s Day gift page featuring some of its top-selected bouquets as well as accompanying gift sets (hello, charcuterie!). Many items are discounted and you can use the code SAVE20 to get 20% off select bouquets. The long-time floral and gifts company has an average 3.9-star rating from Consumer Affairs, with happy customers highlighting prompt delivery and the fullness of the bouquets.

Telaflora Mother’s Day Sale

Telaflora has slashed the prices on many of its top Mother’s Day arrangements starting at around $35. There are many vases, bouquets and arrangements to choose from — including succulents for the more cactus-inclined moms out there. But, if you’re looking for top-notch customer service, this deal may not be the one for you. TopTenReviews says “a reliable service with a great product – but our positive experience doesn’t reflect that of the large number of negative customer reviews.”

Tips for getting a deal on flowers for Mother’s Day

Don’t forget to price check with your local floristAn open secret in the floral industry is that when you order from a number of online flower sites, it is local florists who are fulfilling your order anyway. When you order flowers online, you may pay service fees to the online retailer for doing the work of contacting that florist for you. So it’s important to price check online flowers (make sure you add in the service fees) with local florist flowers to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

Make a creative DIY bouquetIf you’re working within a tight budget, but want to buy your mother beautiful flowers anyway, consider visiting a brick and mortar storefront, and buying unique and fresh stems directly from a florist, suggests Sachi Rose, a New York-based florist. Anissa Manzo, the founder and lead designer of Urban Poppy in Savannah, Georgia, notes that you can take these stems, and combine them with foliage from your backyard, or less expensive flowers that you can buy at a bodega or big box store. A vase can be easily purchased at a dollar store or the supermarket.

Consider a blooming plant

Another alternative, notes Dan McManus, the president of Team Floral, is buying a blooming plant from a florist — for example, a peace lily or an amaryllis. “The florist will dress it up in a foil container, with a bow,” he says. “It will give the plant more of an emotional value.”
