Jauan Jennings is a secondary wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers who had one touchdown this season, but he would be quite the difference-maker if he was on the Philadelphia Eagles.
With A.J. Brown out for Monday’s playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a knee injury, Jennings took to social media and shaded the other Philadelphia pass-catchers:
“Jalen Hurts prolly wishing he had me,” he wrote. “Who else they got at WR? Because I truly don’t know. Is Number 6 playing? Sheesh I hope so or it’s over for them folks.”
There has been no shortage of trash talk between the Eagles and 49ers after they faced each other in the NFC Championship Game last season, but it is still surprising to see someone like Jennings getting in the mix.
This would add another layer of drama if the Eagles and 49ers play each other later in the postseason, but Philadelphia cannot afford to look ahead of Monday’s game.
After all, the reigning NFC champions lost five of their final six regular-season games and now won’t have Brown out wide against Tampa Bay.
Maybe they could use someone like Jennings.
