4/27 – Rob Knight’s “Very Nice” Hump Day Morning Forecast
Hump Day #HumpDay
High-pressure over the region will provide for clear skies, lighter wind than what we have become accustomed to these past few weeks. A less humid air mass will make afternoon high temperatures right around 80 degrees rather comfortable.
With strong high pressure over the East Coast and a strengthening storm system over the Central Plains Friday, a more robust pressure gradient will be in place across SE LA and S MS. Winds will increase from the south, with a longer fetch across the Gulf. Moisture will increase with dew-points back into the 60s to 70s.
A few upper level perturbations will move through the region and interact a boundary north. With moisture in place now, there will be chances for showers and some thunderstorms Saturday through Monday. However, it will not be a complete washout of weekend. The convective chances will be mainly diurnal in nature, so more likely to see an afternoon or early evening shower or t-storm.
