2023 NFL Draft: Watch Sean Clifford’s emotional reaction after being picked by the Green Bay Packers
Sean Clifford #SeanClifford
There probably were not many people who had Sean Clifford going in the fifth-round of the NFL Draft.
There were probably even more people who didn’t have the Penn State quarterback going at all. But none of those people were in the Green Bay Packers front office, and Clifford apparently did enough to impress them in a big way during a pre-draft visit.
So there it was, a Saturday surprise as Clifford’s named was called in that fifth-round, 149th-overall.
And Clifford’s reaction was priceless.
A video of him watching his name get called, in his living room, was posted to social media, and as soon as the pick was announced, the tears came out and his head went in his hands.
Says it all. Incredible emotion.

The 6-foot-2, 218 pounder was a four-year starter for the Nittany Lions, but he didn’t receive an invite to the NFL Combine. So, the selection was, likely, higher than anyone envisioned.
He was the 11th quarterback taken in the draft.
“I feel like I’m truly playing my best ball,” Clifford told PennLive after his Pro Day. “I think the Rose Bowl speaks for itself and I know that I’m playing my best ball, and I know that I’m a pro.”
