The Convener, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju has said that the ruling APC could brazenly opt for a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidency because the opposition is “useless and divided”.
He stated this in a series of tweets after Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is a Yoruba Muslim, announced Senator Kashim Shettima, who is a Kanuri Muslim, as his running mate on Sunday.
After the announcement, some Nigerians took to social media to fault Tinubu and his party for failing to take the nation’s religious diversity into consideration.

“The reason they can dare such a brazen move of Muslim-Muslim ticket is because they know the opposition is useless and divided. And they will win if the opposition doesn’t heed my wise counsel.
“Tinubu and the APC are saying they don’t give a damn. The message of the Muslim-Muslim ticket is too loud. In fact, they are having a good laugh and with a divided opposition, they will laugh harder in February,” Deji Adeyanji wrote.
