Nuno Tavares is drawing interest from a couple of clubs in Germany, according to a report.
Sky Sports News report that Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg are interested in Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares this summer.
The Gunners reportedly value Tavares at around £13m, having signed him for £8m from Benfica in 2021. The 23-year-old is also attracting interest from unnamed clubs in England and Italy.
West Ham United were one of the clubs linked with a move for Tavares by other sources earlier in the window, though nothing much has progressed on that front.
The Hammers seem to be focusing on other deals at the moment, pursuing Harry Maguire, Edson Alvarez, and James Ward-Prowse.
Tavares finally made his return to training with Arsenal last week, after his loan spell with Marseille last season and subsequent participation in the u21 European Championship over the summer.
However, the defender didn’t have a number on his shirt or his shorts in training pictures.
The defender wore 20 in the 2021/22 campaign, but he’s since lost that number to Jorginho, and it seems Arsenal haven’t assigned him another.
Marseille had reportedly looked at making Tavares’ deal permanent after his loan, but they didn’t have an option to buy and didn’t end up agreeing on a price before sending him back to Arsenal.
As it stands, Oleksandr Zinchenko is probably Arsenal’s first-choice left-back, but the Gunners also have Kieran Tierney, Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Jakub Kiwior, all of whom have played the role before.
