Federal police arrested a 19-year-old from Missouri Tuesday morning after he allegedly drove a truck into security barriers outside the White House Monday night, the U.S. Park Police announced in a statement, charging him with assault and threatening to kill or kidnap the president.

Police identified the suspected driver as Sai Varshith Kandula, a 19-year-old from Chesterfield, Missouri.
Kandula faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, trespassing and threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on the president, vice president, their family and federal property.
Secret Service agents had detained the suspected driver and shut down access to the area Monday night after he rammed a U-Haul truck into the barriers at Lafayette Square, outside the White House, and reportedly carried a Nazi flag with him.
