However, while the WWE Universe knows plenty about what Road Dogg has done, there are still aspects of his career that even his biggest fans aren’t aware of. Whether it is situations in his personal life, or other achievements, there is a lot to learn about this particular wrestling legend.

He Has A Podcast

Road Dogg is an incredibly creative mind and a great storyteller, which is why it makes sense that he has his own podcast alongside Ryan Katz. Road Dogg gives his opinions on the current business while also sharing stories about his own time in professional wrestling.

It’s an interesting listen, and something that any fan of Road Dogg is sure to enjoy due to the passion and energy he brings to each episode. While there are a lot of wrestlers with podcasts, his is one of the most exciting, and his opinions often get people talking online.

Doesn’t Want To Wrestle Anymore

Nowadays there are a lot of wrestling legends from the time that Road Dogg worked still competing, including his former tag team partner Billy Gunn, who still wrestles at a high level for AEW. However, a return to the ring for Road Dogg is not something that fans should expect anytime soon.

Gunn was the man to reveal that news, making it clear that he doesn’t want to wrestle anymore which is why a New Age Outlaws reunion isn’t going to happen at any point in the future, even if fans would love to see it.

Working Backstage For WWE

While Road Dogg has no interest in lacing up the boots once again, he does still have a lot to offer the business, and he does that actively behind the scenes for WWE. He had been doing that for NXT previously, but he ended up parting ways with the company until recently when Triple H gained more control backstage.

That led to Road Dogg being brought back to the company, as the WWE Hall Of Famer is now working as the Senior Vice President Of Live Events. It’s an important role backstage, and that is what he takes up, helping the company move forward alongside his friend.

Tried To Join AEW

While Road Dogg has returned to WWE recently now that Triple H has gained more power, before that happened he was actually pushing to try and join AEW. With Billy Gunn being a big part of that company, Road Dogg had the desire to go and join his former tag team partner to work backstage.

Road Dogg made it public knowledge that he wanted to be involved with the new company to try and help talent with their promo skills, which is something that he is naturally gifted at. However, AEW seemingly didn’t have the same interest going the other way, which is why he wasn’t signed.

Issues With Substance Abuse

During his time in WWE Road Dogg went through some serious difficulties with substance abuse such as cocaine and painkillers, which is something that led to plenty of difficulties at that time. Road Dogg was dealing with those issues during his time in D-Generation X, which is something he has been open about.

Thankfully, Road Dogg was able to resolve that situation which is a great thing as his life could have ended up going down a very different path if things hadn’t changed due to his rehabilitation.

Previously Worked In Creative

Road Dogg is someone who has a lot of knowledge about the wrestling world, and that is something that WWE did tap into as he used to be a member of the creative team for the company. Initially working on SmackDown and then transitioning to NXT, Road Dogg was involved in plenty of great moments.

From A Famous Wrestling Family

Road Dogg is a famous wrestler in his own right, but the former WWE Tag Team Champion is also part of a wider wrestling family that has a lot of history in the business. His father is ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong, who is a WWE Hall Of Famer in his own right, and has built a legacy for the family in his own right.

But Road Dogg’s siblings have also spent their careers in the business with Steve and Brad Armstrong having wrestled all around the world, while his other brother Scott Armstrong is well-known for his career as a WWE official.

Spent Time In TNA

Road Dogg is often seen as a WWE legend due to the number of years he spent working for the company, and everything that he achieved as part of that roster. However, a lot of fans don’t realize that he was also part of TNA for several years as well during a time away from WWE.

He got the chance to work alongside Konnan and R-Truth during this time, with their faction claiming tag team gold throughout that run. Once again Road Dogg was successful, proving that his talent was noticeable in any promotion.

Creating His Catchphrase

Road Dogg did plenty inside the ring throughout his career, but he is also well known for the “Oh you didn’t know” catchphrase that he created. It was a big part of what he did and is a catchphrase that fans still scream to the top of their lungs to this day when he’s around, but a lot of people don’t know how it was created.

Road Dogg got the idea from Brian Lee, who once said the phrase to him backstage after he unbuttoned Road Dogg’s title belt and he wanted to chase after him when he got back. Instead, he used it in the ring and continued to do so ever since.

He’s A Hall Of Famer

Road Dogg may not have done quite enough as a singles competitor to earn a Hall Of Fame ring, however, alongside the rest of D-Generation X, he was given that honor. Road Dogg went in alongside all the other members of the famous faction, with his efforts being acknowledged.

It’s certainly something that he earned throughout his career as that faction was a brilliant one, and the New Age Outlaws played a particularly big part in their success.
