1 dead, 3 hospitalized after two vehicles collide on US-52: SCHP

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Berkeley County Saturday evening.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified Corey Brown, 41, of Pineville as the victim of the collision.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the collision occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on US-52 near Bonneau Road, one mile south of Bonneau.

Authorities say a 2001 Toyota Camry with three occupants was traveling east and a 1987 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Brown was traveling west when they collided on US-52.

Brown, the driver of the Chevrolet S-10, died on the scene, according to the SCHP and the coroner’s office. The three occupants of the Toyota Camry were transported to Trident Medical Center.

The collision is under investigation by the SCHP and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
