Liverpool have ‘reached an agreement’ for a British record fee of £110m for Brighton midfielder Moisés Caicedo in the early hours of Friday morning.
This staggering piece of news comes from the Athletic’s David Ornstein, who has revealed that the Merseyside club have outbid Premier League rivals Chelsea to snatch the services of the highly-touted Ecuadorian.
The bidding clubs were reportedly given a deadline of midnight to submit their final offers, and Liverpool have seemingly just edged out the Blues.
Caicedo’s addition to the Liverpool midfield could go some way towards replacing the recently departed Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
