Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Erling Haaland is fit again and will be in the squad to face Burnley on Wednesday evening.

Haaland has not featured for the club since a defeat to Aston Villa at the beginning of December, but Guardiola confirmed in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday that the Norwegian striker is back in contention.

“First time he is back,” said Guardiola.

“We have all the squad, we are stronger. He is an important player for us.”

The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions this season, and is still level with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah at the top of the Premier League scoring charts despite his lengthy absence.
